Preview: The Introduction
I have never kept journals. I have never had a diary.
I am not an English major, nor do I possess any special literary skills. Writing a book has never been a task I thought I would undertake. Even now as I pen this, I have no specific outline to follow, nor do I have any certainty it will be accomplished. That statement is not in any form negative. It would be appropriate to just say, “I don’t know what I am doing.”
I only know this: I have a testimony that I do believe, with everything within me, can and will help some, inspire someone, or maybe even help draw some — you? — closer to God.
The events I envision telling, in the context of a book, are events that have occurred, engulfed, and surrounded my life in the months, and now past a year, after losing my youngest son, David, from this earthly life granted us.
If you are one who believes in the supernatural power of God, I hope and pray this book strengthens you. If you are totally averse to such belief, maybe you shouldn’t waste your time reading. I do not have any thoughts of writing this book in an to attempt to convert anyone nor to debate anyone’s belief system.
What I write happened in my life.
These are real exact experiences that came to me, occurred with me, as I yearned for help from what I know to be a living God.
Many of the occurrences transpired as I reached a point of total desperation. One thing became commonplace for me: with each event in my life, I became more and more a believer and more convinced that God is more than able to perform all we seek and need. The key is He knows when and what is best.
I am not certain how to bring the multiple elements of a book together: a preface, the chapters, how much of my life to explain to better illustrate the desperation I found in myself when David went to be with the Lord. So why am I attempting this now? I am 100% convinced that in some way I am to share God’s gifts and blessings He has given me. While I have grown to better understand that God does love us so much and desires to comfort our griefs and sorrows, I do not believe that all He has done for me was just for me. I am obligated and charged to testify and to share. This book is to that end.
This book is meant to be about God’s miracles, about God’s visitations in my life to comfort, heal, and strengthen me while losing the earthly fellowship I had with my son.
Experience a story of God's miracles and a testimony of strength.

About David
Written by his Big Brother, Daniel
David was one of a kind. He could make you laugh, cry and say “HUH” all in a very short conversation. David was small in stature but made up for it with tremendous courage and a big personality. Most considered him a very shy person, but what they didn’t know was he secretly loved to be the center of attention.
David was the guy that would sneak into your neighbor’s yard in the middle of the night to pull flowers from their garden for a girl he thought deserved them. Yes, that really happened, he knew how to make an impression that’s for sure. He was the most loyal friend/brother anyone could ask for. He would have your back no matter what and would always be there for you.
My brother was also far from perfect, he was his own worse enemy. He dealt with severe anxiety and many insecurities, and that made life tough for him at times. But at the same time, he was the toughest person I knew and could turn any boring room into a party. He made up for his size and insecurities with fearlessness, he was scared of nothing and no one. But he was a God-fearing man, he said many things over the years that let me know he had his own relationship with our Lord.
To wrap this up, I’m going to close with my greatest sadness as a brother. David absolutely adored kids, they were a great joy to him. I know David would have been the greatest uncle any child could have. It saddens me so much to know my son Brayden will not get to experience the man his uncle was, at least not on this earth. It still hurts a great deal not having David with us anymore, but there’s also an element of joy knowing that we will be reunited again one day. Until then we will continue to remember all the great memories and stories he left with us.
